Senior Developer, Atlassian

About

An engineer at heart, I'm always eager to solve problems. I have an M.Tech from BITS-Pilani, India, currently working with Atlassian India and previously spent five years at Apple, California. I have spent a year at Stanford University earning credits in Statistics, Project Management, and Public speaking and the last four years in applying them. I am an engineer with extreme customer focus and a solution-oriented mindset. I use these two principles to solving most of the challenges thrown at me. Customer focus is also the need of the hour. While an engineer may want to build a technologically complex and unique system, it isn't worth humanity.

During the day, I work at Atlassian as a senior developer on the Marketplace Engineering team. My team builds the platform that enables thousands of developers and partners to publish their apps for the Atlassian ecosystem to enhance the capabilities and experiences of Jira and Confluence. Before this, I have experience scaling Sourcetree, a git client for macOS and Windows, to over 4 million monthly users. Being the third developer to have touched the code of Sourcetree macOS client, along with a senior developer, we scaled it from 500K users to over 1.2 Million MAU over two years. We delighted the customers to have scored one of the highest NPS scores in the industry.

Before joining Atlassian, I worked for Apple as an independent contractor for over five years. I spent the initial years of my tenure at Apple on re-architecting their in-house bug tracking solution to adapt to newer client-server architecture to modernize the tech stack. We built more and more new features such as a modern reporting system and a Jira-like project management dashboard with more capabilities unlocked post the re-architecture.

Outside work, I enjoy hiking and trekking the most. It has been a pain ever since the dawn of 2020, with the Covid-19 pandemic immobilizing us, and I haven't had a chance to go outdoors much.

With experience building macOS apps at Apple and Atlassian and a bit of iOS experience, I ventured into building an iOS app for Bengaluru's Metro - Namma Metro.

I volunteer for various organizations in various capacities in the past. Currently, I spend most of my time supporting Foundation activities inside Atlassian and managing partnerships for Atlassian Foundation in India while deeply involving myself with organizations such as Tech4Good and Vigyan Shaala.

I also work with IEEE locally in Bangalore with the section and with the Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS) globally on the Membership Marketing team. I host webinars for IEEE TEMS under the brand "Thursdays with TEMS".
